The decision to receive Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior is the most important decision that you will ever make. Nothing compares with having a personal relationship with Him! He knows you, He loves you and He is waiting for you to accept Him as Lord and Savior.
1. GOD LOVES YOU!
You must realize that God loves you and that He has already made a way for you to be united with Him forever. You must understand that He paid the ultimate price for your salvation. The Bible says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).
GOD KNOWS YOU…
In Jeremiah 1:10, God declares “Before I formed you in your mother’s womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart.”
GOD HAS CHOSEN YOU…
John 15:16 says, “…I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit – fruit that will last.”
GOD HAS A PLAN AND A PURPOSE FOR YOU…
Jeremiah 29:11 says, “‘For I know the plans I have for you’, declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a future and a hope.’”
You may feel like there is not one person out there who would even notice if you were to cease to exist. You may feel like you are wandering around without a purpose and without hope. But there is hope and a future for your life, the Almighty God. He is the creator of heaven and earth, the maker of the universe; and He desires to have fellowship with you.
2. ETERNITY IS FOREVER!
Let me ask you a question. If you were to die today, do you know where you would go to spend eternity?
Before you answer the question, let me tell you what the Word of God says:
John 3:3 says, “…I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.”
John 14:6 says, “Jesus answered, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
You may be thinking, “Well, I am a good person. I try to do the right thing. I give to charity. I am not a criminal…I should go to heaven.”
Galatians 2:16 says, “Know that a man is not justified by observing the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Jesus Christ that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by observing the law, because by observing the law no one will be justified.”
Dear friend, you can’t earn your way into heaven. Though abiding by the law is something we all need to do, that alone will not save us from an eternity in hell. Neither can you buy your way into heaven. There is only ONE WAY, JESUS! He alone can provide salvation from Hell. He alone can provide redemption of sin. He is the only way, the only truth and the only light!
3. WE ALL NEED A SAVIOR!
Romans 3:23 says “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”
1 John 1:8 says, “If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.”
It is important to understand what sin is. Sin is what separates us from God and what keeps us from the life that God created us to live. Romans 6:23 says “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.” The penalty for sin is death.
Galatians 5:19 says, “The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.”
1 Corinthians 6:9 says, “Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolators, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexual offenders, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.”
If there is sin in your life and you do not receive the payment that Jesus Christ has already paid for your sin, you will have to pay the price. The wages of sin is death.
God sent His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross and pay the debt for our sin. Jesus Christ died so that we wouldn’t have to. He paid the price for our sin with His own precious blood.
But Jesus did not stay in the grave! He has risen from the dead and now He sits at the right hand of God in heaven, and has been given authority over all things. The Bible says in Ephesians 2:6 “And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus.” That means that when you accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior that you are raised and seated with Him!
4. GOD HAS MADE A WAY FOR YOU!
My friend, do not despair! God has made a way for us all. Remember, He knows us; He formed us and He created us! He knows what we do, what we think and what we desire. He knows that without Jesus Christ, we will be forever separated from Him. This is the good news of the Gospel: That God has made a way for you! He sent His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross and pay the price for your sin so that you could be set free!
1 Corinthians 6:11 says, “But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.”
Ephesians 2:4 says, “But because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions.”
5. REPENT AND RECEIVE THE FREE GIFT OF SALVATION TODAY!
Acts 3:19 says, “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.”
John 8:11 says, “‘…neither do I condemn you,’ Jesus declared. ‘Go now and leave your life of sin.’”
You must repent of your sins, and ask Jesus Christ to forgive you and then turn from your life of sin.
Romans 10:9-10 & 13 says, “If you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved… everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Invite Him into your heart to be your personal Lord and Savior today.
Pray this prayer out loud:
Dear Jesus, I believe that you are the Son of God. I believe that You died on the cross to pay the price for my sin. Right now, I ask you to come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. I give you complete and total control. Forgive me of all my sins so that I can be one with God, my Heavenly Father. Jesus, I thank you that I am a new creature now. The person I use to be no longer exists. I commit my life to You, and ask You to help me to live for you. Thank you for making my heart Your home. In Jesus Name, Amen!
